Project Management Planning

With the financial and legal pragmatics either out of the way or sufficiently under control, focus can be applied to mobilizing the project effort in the following way:

Consultants are engaged by the scope and qualifications for each being defined, candidates are identified and interviewed, the scopes are articulated, relationships are negotiated and formally documented.

Space Programming is confirmed and refined. What once was just a tactical detail now becomes the center of attention. How much power will be required and how big should the storage be are now the subject of scrutiny.

Line Item Budgets are developed, even if this, at first, means simply distributing the conceptual cost projections into a more detailed budget format.

CPM Schedule is developed, and like the Line Item Budgets, the conceptual schedule projection is hypothetically translated into a detailed Critical Path Method schedule, prior to the actual schedule detail being developed.

Sourcing of key vendors for specialty construction/production items occurs, first by inventorying the likely key specialty items from the conceptual design, and then by researching, identifying and qualifying prospective sources for quality of product and service, and price.
