Michael McCall began his professional life in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after being schooled in economics.

At age 23, he led his first team of development professionals in the definition of a strategy for the adaptive reuse of a 16 acre historic railroad depot and yard, for Larry Wilson, the Chairman of Wilson Learning Corporation.

At age 25, Michael formed the Depot Development Company, along with partners Steven J. Shapiro, Esq. and Barbara Butman, and secured funding from the Wheelock Whitney family, Minneapolis Star Tribune, and the Soo Line Railroad.

In 1982, Michael joined landmark developer, James Rouse, as the fourth employee of The Enterprise Development Company, in Columbia, Maryland.

As a Development Director and Vice President, Michael's career with Mr. Rouse included:

- Festival Marketplace development;

- Leading Enterprise's urban entertainment joint venture with The Walt Disney Company (and Disney Development, Walt Disney Imagineering, Strategic Planning, and Walt Disney World Operations) from 1985 to 1988;

- Conducting international leisure-based consulting in Australia, England, Japan, Singapore, Spain and the United States; and,

- Leading the strategic planning of the Field Museum of Natural History, in Chicago.

A decade after joining Mr. Rouse, Michael founded Strategic Leisure in 1992, for the purpose of developing entertainment products.

Michael has shared his life personally and professionally throughout the past twenty years with his partner, Barbara Butman McCall. They have a teenage son, Evan, who is a student and Apple Computer aficionado.
