Michael
S. McCall

Michael McCall
began his professional life in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after being
schooled in economics.
At age 23, he
led his first team of development professionals in the definition
of a strategy for the adaptive reuse of a 16 acre historic railroad
depot and yard, for Larry Wilson,
the Chairman of Wilson Learning Corporation.
At age 25, Michael
formed the Depot Development
Company, along with partners Steven J. Shapiro, Esq. and
Barbara Butman, and secured funding from the Wheelock Whitney family,
Minneapolis Star Tribune, and the Soo Line Railroad.
In 1982, Michael
joined landmark developer, James
Rouse, as the fourth employee of The Enterprise Development
Company, in Columbia, Maryland.

As a Development
Director and Vice President, Michael's career with Mr. Rouse included:
- Festival
Marketplace development;
- Leading Enterprise's
urban entertainment joint venture with The
Walt Disney Company (and Disney Development, Walt Disney
Imagineering, Strategic Planning, and Walt Disney World Operations)
from 1985 to 1988;
- Conducting
international leisure-based consulting in Australia, England, Japan,
Singapore, Spain and the United States; and,
- Leading the strategic planning of the Field
Museum of Natural History, in Chicago.
A decade after
joining Mr. Rouse, Michael founded Strategic Leisure in 1992, for
the purpose of developing entertainment products.
Michael has
shared his life personally and professionally throughout the past
twenty years with his partner, Barbara Butman McCall. They have
a teenage son, Evan,
who is a student and Apple Computer aficionado.
